Armed Forces Emergency Services The Ouachita Area Chapter of the American Red Cross, based in Hot Springs, Arkansas, cooperates with the various military branches to provide members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families with timely and reliable access to emergency financial assistance and communications. Our goal in peacetime, and especially in times of war, is to keep families and military personnel connected when other forms of communication are inaccessible. It is important that the following information is provided when you call: Service person's full and legal name, rank and military address. Name of caller, phone number, address, and relationship to the service person. Notification of death: Name of deceased, relationship to the service person, cause of death, name of doctor, hospital, or funeral home that can verify death, including a phone number. Illness: Name of patient, relationship to service person, attending physicians name, phone number, and permission to contact.
