Volunteer!Join the Red Cross team by donating your time and talents. Volunteers are the heart and soul of the American Red Cross. Volunteers serve at all levels of the organization, from disaster relief, providing health and safety instruction to coordinating casework, performing clerical tasks, and greeting people at the front desk.

The Chapter has volunteers reflecting all ages, ranges of income and the diverse community. You may never work harder or get dirtier or get paid less . . . but it will be the best job you never got paid to do.

The Garland County Chapter has an active group of volunteers - both adults and youth:

Disaster Relief Volunteer Opportunities

Trained disaster volunteers often start by volunteering on local Red Cross Disaster Action Teams which respond to disasters 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Disaster volunteers who gain local experience also are eligible to serve as part of the Red Cross Disaster Services Human Resources System to be deployed to disasters around the country.

Disaster Action Team (DAT) members are volunteers who respond to single-family fires as assigned by their Disaster Action Team supervisor (DAT Captain).

Disaster Action Team supervisors (DAT Captains) assist the Red Cross in delivering its mission to provide relief to victims of local disasters, and help prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. They contact and supervisor DAT members during a local disaster.
